We are so fortunate to have our bed and breakfast located in the middle of all of the action—giving guests an abundance of options to enjoy during their stay. In addition to these activities are fantastic events that take place all summer long, one of which being the very popular Midwest Wine & Brew Festival.

The Midwest Wine & Brew Festival is coming up Saturday, August 19th, 2017. This annual event is in its 25th year and is easily a top summer festival in the state. Missouri has a great history of beer and wine. The fertile countryside our state is fortunate to have produces some of the best wines in the country. As many of you know, Annheuser-Busch, the company that started producing Budweiser in 1876 and rose to become the leading brewer in the US, started in Missouri. Even though they sold in 2008, the Busch family is back in business and taking the brewing world by storm with their new Kraftig beer. The Busch family was known to buy a round for the house at one of our many local waterfront bars so who knows, maybe Billy Busch himself will be at the festival offering sips of Kraftig!

This summer festival is presented by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and will take place at the Lodge of Four Seasons from 2-5pm. Some of the state’s most popular microbreweries, wineries, and distilleries show up with their best wares available for sampling and purchase. In the past over 20 different vendors have attended and local restaurants will also be sharing light fare to compliment your wine and brew samples. Take your time perusing and chatting with the vendors while live music adds to the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon.

Enjoy a discount of paying only $15 for an advance ticket; otherwise the cost is $20 at the door. Your ticket will include a tasting of all of the wines and beers, as well as a souvenir wine glass. Call 1-800-451-4117 or visit the event website for more information. Our bed and breakfast is a quick 20-minute drive to the festival venue and offers the perfect choice for accommodations for you and your guests.
