Sue Westenhaver from The Inn at Harbour Ridge participates in Heartland
Bed and Breakfast Conference in Branson, MO

Sue Westenhaver, owner/innkeeper of The Inn at Harbour Ridge, recently
presented a workshop at a three day conference for bed and breakfast
professionals in Branson,MO. The Heartland Conference was held at
Branson's Chateau on the Lake Hotel March 6-8.
Westenhaver's session was entitled "Packaging - A Good Thing for You and
Your Guest" and emphasized ways to partner with local businesses to
combine lodging, services, and activities, as a one stop shop for
guests. Partnerships with Osage Beach Premium Outlets, the Lake's "Top
10" Specialty Shops, Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozark Golf Council,
and select fine dining establishments at the Lake were showcased.
Westenhaver and her husband, Ron, joined 250 other attendees at the
conference from 13 different states to learn about new trends and issues
affecting the B & B industry. Presentations and panel discussion
included subjects as diverse as travelers' changing needs, insurance
coverage for B & Bs, and creative ways to serve meals.
The event was planned and organized by the state B & B associations of
Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas with coordination by the
Professional Association of Innkeepers International (PAII).
Westenhaver is in her second term as director of Bed and Breakfast Inns
