Polar Plunge – Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

Need a weekend Missouri getaway ~ somewhere in the Heartland? Plan now to make the easy drive to Osage Beach and see crazy folks in costume ~ with big hearts ~ plunge into the icy waters of Lake of the Ozarks. Our 19th Annual Plunge at the Lake is Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 ~ a special fun-filled opportunity for you to support a really good cause, Special Olympic athletes. So show your true colors and see those of the Lake Plungers ~ quite possibly blue! Our plungers will ‘bear all’ and walk, run, or risk being pushed into the icy waters at Public Beach #2 in Osage Beach, very close to our Select Registry bed and breakfast location. Hopefully Mother Nature will have co-operated with event organizers and melted the ice on the cove by Saturday when the Plunge begins at 2:30PM!

The Parade of Costumes begins at 2PM with announcements and the Plunger’s Oath at 2:15.  Then waves and waves of goosebumped folks hold hands as they make a mad dash for the shoreline – and beyond!

Are  you someone who thinks swimming in a semi-frozen body of water just once would be plausible – even easy? Let’s talk extreme.  Even braver, even crazier Super Plungers plunge 24 times in 24 hours into a semi frozen area of the Lake.  Won’t you come cheer on ALL these brave Special Olympic Plungers and make a donation to this ‘unbearable’ charity at the same time?

Afterwards we invite you to make the short drive to our Lake of the Ozarks bed and breakfast, the Inn at Harbour Ridge and plunge into one of our twosome tubbies, or a private hot tub —- filled with steamy hot water.  Warm up in front of a fireplace and decide if next year it’s plunge time for you!

Follow us on Facebook at Facebook.com/InnatHarbourRidge for Plunge Updates and Lake Happenings!

Hope to see you soon!
